ancient Dawn, flag fen by jamesgreen ancient Dawn, flag fen by jamesgreen
For this painting I used watercolour paint and ink applied mainly with a number 2 paint brush. I spayed the paint through the airbrush for the sky, water and mist. The Mallard ducks were painted with a 00 brush.

Limited edition prints of this painting are available from my website

In many ways perhaps a simple scene, ancient Dawn, Flag Fen by ~jamesgreen presents through masterful execution a glimpse of the extraordinary within a setting initially mute... and thus, ultimately, all the more magical. ( Suggested by AnnaKirsten and Featured by snowmask )

Can't believe this one is painted. GREAT work! Also the atmosphere is great; I like those romantic moments at a river in the morning(?) mist.
Well done!

I swear that I am there. The space, the peace, the sound of the ducks... it's a good place to be. Magic!

I painted the background first then painted the mist on top with watered down zinc white gouache to let the background colours still to come though a little. Hope that helps
